Terry Murphy, President

Ms. Murphy is widely recognized and highly regarded as a public policy expert in Southern Nevada. As President of Strategic Solutions since 1997, Terry has served as an advisor to a wide variety of executives, public officials, businesses and public agencies regarding public policy, strategic planning and business development issues. Strategic Solutions has provided integrated research, planning, communication and government relations services to such clients as former Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn, Clark County government, the Nevada Department of Transportation, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, the Desert Research Institute Foundation, the Howard Hughes Corporation, KB Home, American West Homes, Focus Property Group, the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Mandalay Resorts, MGM Mirage Corporation and Station Casinos.

From 1991 until 1997, Terry served Clark County government in a variety of capacities, including Director of Administrative Services and Assistant Director of Comprehensive Planning. She was responsible for public policy development and implementation for the Board of County Commissioners, legislative initiatives, environmental and land use planning, capital facility planning and county-wide strategic planning.

From 1989 until 1991, Terry served as Government Affairs Specialist for the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association, forging a partnership with government agencies and environmental groups to create the Clark County Habitat Conservation Plan for the desert tortoise, a plan that has been recognized nationally for innovation and success in dealing with threatened and endangered species.

From 1987 until 1989, Terry served as an adjunct faculty member at the Community College of Southern Nevada and Teaching Assistant in the Department of Sociology at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

Terry currently serves as a director for HELP of Southern Nevada and previously served on the boards of the Las Vegas Monorail Company, The Las Vegas Merchandise and Apparel Mart Inc., and Kids to Kids Nevada. She has served on the Southern Nevada Water Authority's Integrated Water Resource Planning Advisory Committee and the Clark County Mixed Use Development Committee. She also has served on the Governor's Committee to Conduct a Fundamental Review of State Government and as Chair of the Clark County Organization and Resource Review Committee. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the Southern Nevada Home Builders Association and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

Terry holds a Master of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
